Jeffery Felker

Jeffery Felker was born in 1980 and is based in Sacramento. In his artworks you can see how he creates stories that are a fusion of reality and dreams. Water and music seem to be the elements that are more present in his recent works. His medium of choice is oil on canvas and board. “…The human figures within are located in conflicted worlds of emotional isolation.” –Jeffery Felker

Kris Lewis

Kris Lewis was born in 1978, Jersey Shore. He studied illustration at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, from which he graduated in 2003. Using the human figure, he creates and transmits a very delicate emotion. His characters or main figures have deepness to them, like their hiding a secret. Currently he lives and works in Los Angeles. His work is known around the world, from London, Hong Kong, Miami and New York (to name a few).

  • He is also on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/krislewisart#!/krislewisart

“As I begin a painting the subject physically, emotionally and spiritually reveals itself to me.  Each brushstroke speaks to the subsequent stroke, carrying out a dialogue, linking my subject and me as if we were meeting for the first time. I find this uncertainty exciting and embrace the indecisive nature of my work.”

Jennybird Alcantara

One day I was surfing trough hundreds of portfolios, and Jennybird Alcantara caught my eye. She lives in San Francisco California, were she got her Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) from The Art Institute.  Most of her works are oils on wood, but she also makes dolls! As you can see, her characters sometimes are hybrids of humans and animals.

Carles Gomila

For our first post we decided we would share a little bit of Carles Gomila’s artwork. He was born in Ciutadella de Menorca in 1978. Adding to the fact that his art is gorgeous, what makes Gomila very interesting as an artist is that he makes his own oil paints! You can’t say that about most of the artists of our time!

In his paintings you’ll find elegant, contemporary, yet classical, human anatomy. He transmits a sense of strangeness, and his characters most of the time look like they come from the World of dreams and nightmares.

He is in high demand and work internationally. USA, UK, France and Spain are some of the places where you can find galleries with his work.

You can buy one of his prints at Fine Grime.  http://www.finegrime.co.uk/
To see more of his work, news, bio and contact visit his webpage: http://www.carlesgomila.com/
